The Many Faces of Pi
TThe number Pi has been analyzed, calculated, and in a few cases, nearly worshipped for the last 4000 years. This lecture looks not only at the mathematical aspects of Pi (representations with infinite series, connections to e and the Fibonacci numbers, digit extraction, dynamical ystems, etc) but also the community of thinkers it has intersected (such as Euler, Ramanujan, the Chudnovsky brothers, and Mr. Spock ).
