Pd- and Ni-Catalyzed Synthesis of Pharmaceutically Relevant Compounds
Aromatic motifs are prevalent in numerous bioactive molecules. This presentation will detail the development of Pd- and Ni-catalyzed arylations that have the potential to serve as greener and more economical alternatives to previously known methods. These transformations are amenable to the synthesis and derivatization of several industrially relevant heteroaromatic structural motifs. Preliminary mechanistic studies for these arylations will also be described. These studies will contribute to the predictable and strategic use of Pd- versus Ni-catalyzed C–C bond constructions.
